A CALL TO FEED THE HUNGRY One community. One voice.
Every day, millions of Texans rely on food assistance to feed their families. As people of faith, we are called to care for our neighbors and support the programs that help them thrive.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Faith communities can’t meet this need alone.
Call to Feed the Hungry Sunday is an opportunity to educate our congregations about the essential role SNAP plays in feeding Texans facing hunger. SNAP feeds 90% of hungry Texans. Congregations, food pantries and food banks feed only 10% of hungry Texans. Those 10% are the most vulnerable so our work is essential. But we cannot fill the SNAP gap on our own. We need decision-makers to join us in ensuring that SNAP continues to play its role in food security for Texans.
90%
of hungry Texans are fed by SNAP
When that support shrinks, the impact reaches whole communities — not just individual families.

When Jesus fed the five thousand, he did not turn people away. On August 2, we are invited to do the same — to open our doors, gather our communities, and raise our voices for the millions of Texans who depend on SNAP to eat.
